Chapter 3
Wow, Mohsen Ramat is crazy. He loves his wife and respects her. That is a lot different from what the usual islamic people do. I wonder if he is islamic or if he is christian? I cant believe that he helped stone the woman in the square. That is so wierd because his wife said it was not his ways. If i were the wife i would be scared of Mohsen, even if i loved the guy. He even told her that he felt good when he threw the rocks at her and he cheered for blood. Is the want for blood in Kabul contagious?

This is one characteristic i like about Mohsen, he is faithful to his wife unlike other men in Kabul. I too would be scared of my husband if he stoned a woman to death. I couldn't even fathome killing aomeone like that. I was surprised to see Mohsen participate in the stoning. He seems to be a very down to earth type guy.
Mohsen is different than many Afghani men. One thing that is different is that he's educated. His wife Zanaria is also educated too.
He's Islamic as are most that live in that part of the world. I'm sure there are some Christians, but they probably can't worship openly since the Taliban wouldn't allow it.
I think she is shocked at his behavior, since he should know better. That is why she is so angry with him.

I think you pointed this out, and it explains that people feel so tense and pent up with stiffled emotions. He threw the rocks and felt good about it, but later he realized this was wrong.
Most in Kabul don't connect the two.
